While what you bring is up to you, we highly encourage everyone running this trail to have everything on the main list, for everyone’s fun and safety.
Gear List:
- Pack w/hydration system or handheld bottles (2 x500ml) — water for refills is readily available on the route
- Long sleeved top (med-heavy weight – no cotton)
- Waterproof/windproof jacket
- Gloves (no cotton)
- Hat (no cotton)
- Headlamp with extra batteries (if flights are delayed, you may find yourself running through the night)
- Whistle
- Emergency Blanket
- Bear Spray (encounters are possible, black bears only)
- Enough food to carry you through the 34 miles of rough terrain.
- GPS device w/map of course downloaded (mobile phone or other)
Recommended Gear:
- SOS compatible device (inReach or similar)
- Sunglasses
- Waterproof pants (to stay dry and warm if stuck in place)
- 1st Aid / Foot Care / Personal Medication
- Extra layers / Socks, etc.
- Extra phone/headlamp batteries
- Trekking pole(s) to cross the Taylor River
